Squirrels In Roof

Squirrels in roof. Squirrels will use tree branches as a bridge to your attic. Squirrels living in attics are a concern because they may gnaw on boards and electrical wires. Trim shrubbery so it doesn t touch your house. Take necessary precautions if you have children or pets as they can get caught in the traps as well.
They often build their nests near openings such as an unscreened vent or loose or rotten trim boards. Squirrels can cause considerable damage when they make their nest inside a roof. Squirrel is on the roof because it is actually entering and living in your attic. Squirrels are powerful and destructive squirrels have been known to climb the brick or stucco wall of a four story apartment house in seconds.
With more squirrels there s an increased risk that they will find their way into attics. They are excellent chewers and are notorious for chewing their way into buildings in a dogged manner as they love being inside buildings. Squirrel on a roof is making noises running around and rolling nuts. Check the area around your roof for branches that allow easy access to your roof.
Move bird feeders well away from your house. Squirrels can jump from a branch onto the roof and gain entry into your home. As far as damage to beams and the ceiling or roof itself squirrels may gnaw and dig to create new exits or entrances but the real problem is the mess they make just by living up there. Once they gain entrance they go on to create a mess with their constant gnawing on structures and fittings.
To deal with obstacles in its path a squirrel can pull apart terra cotta and slate roofs. Then use a chainsaw to remove the branches effectively cutting off access to your attic. It squirrel can chew straight through good quality shingles and sturdy wood to gain access to your house. If the squirrel population around your home is a problem use traps to alleviate it.
As they search for entry. Trim any trees that overhang your house as squirrels and other pests can gain easy access to your roof windows and attic. Cut tree branches overhanging your home so squirrels can t get to your roof.
