Threaded Clevis Rods
Clevises are provided as components of tie rod assemblies that portland bolt manufactures and are often used in conjunction with turnbuckles in a typical cross bracing assembly a threaded rod is supported at each end by a clevis.
Threaded clevis rods. Externally threaded clevis rod ends. For this assembly one rod is threaded right hand right hand while the other rod is threaded right hand left hand. Zinc plated steel rod ends offer moderate corrosion resistance. Also called yoke end linkages they support pivoting movement along one axis when threaded onto shafts rods valve pistons and other assemblies.
Easy adapt clevis rod ends. Stainless steel rod ends offer excellent corrosion resistance. The tap size w is the diameter of rod used and should be specified right or left handed thread. Carbon steel turnbuckles are drop forged as per astm f1145.
The grip is the distance between the clevis ears and will be wider than the plate that the clevises are fixing to. One end of each clevis will grip onto a steel plate and is secured with a pin. Stainless steel is drop forged to astm a182. A male threaded shank lets you build a linkage with a tapped tube or any female threaded connection.
Turnbuckle rods clevis rods hanger rods and sag rods are made to job specifications. Round bar is rolled and threaded to astm specification f1554. The clevis size refers to the d dimension and will determine how large of rod can be used and capacity of the assembly. A second configuration of tie rod assembly consists of two rods with a turnbuckle in the middle and clevises on each end.
All round bar and hardware are melted and made domestically.
